Mass in tonnes and recovery rate of clean waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) by operator

Description

This dataset presents the waste mass and recovery rate per operator since 2016, distinguishing hazardous waste from non-hazardous waste. These figures include all waste recovery methods (R1 to R13) **Own waste** is an internal concept within the company that we can describe as follows. This is the waste produced directly by the company’s activity (maintenance waste, tertiary site waste, asbestos, PCB, etc.). For RTE, waste produced by contractors on behalf of the company is excluded from this scope. The latter are the subject of management transferred via the contracts which bind the company to its contractors. These are mainly wastes related to civil engineering works during construction, rehabilitation or disposal of works. This waste is nevertheless monitored by the company. However, as regards the definition of own waste, Teréga and GRTgaz are differentiated: \- waste from Teréga/GRTgaz facilities (own waste). Example:parts of dismantled installations, soiled washing water, etc. \- waste as a result of external service (which is not taken into account in the given figures therefore is not waste in its own right). Example:soiled cloths, chemical packaging (painting pots etc.), etc. \— **Hazardous waste**: Article R541-8 of the Environmental Code: ‘waste which presents one or more of the hazard properties listed in Annex III to Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain Directives. They are indicated by an asterisk in the list of wastes referred to in Article R. 541-7. » **Non-hazardous waste**: Article R541-8 of the Environmental Code: any waste that does not have any of the properties that make waste hazardous **Waste recovery**: Recovery consists of “re-use, recycling or any other action to obtain, from waste, reusable materials or energy” (Law of 13 July 1992).
