Monthly national wind and solar load factors and coverage rates
Description
Monthly load factors (%) and coverage rate (%) for wind and solar.
* Load factor: the ratio between the electricity actually produced by the sector and that which it could have produced if it had operated at its theoretical maximum power during the same period
* Coverage rate: share of consumption covered by the production of the sector
* Load factors/minimum/maximum monthly coverage rate: minimum/maximum value observed over an average of ten minutes during the month
** Calculation methodology used:**
**Load factor**: The instantaneous load factor (in %) is defined as the ratio between the effective power at a given moment and the maximum power (or installed power) at the end of the month. For each month, the load factors corresponding to each power point recorded (half-hourly step) are calculated. The column FC minimum monthly (resp. FC average monthly and FC maximum monthly) corresponds to the minimum (resp. average and maximum) of the instantaneous load factors calculated per month.
**Coverage rate**: In the same way, the instantaneous coverage rate (in %) is defined as the ratio between the instantaneous power produced by the means of production of the sector and the instantaneous power consumed in France at the same time. For each month, the coverage rates corresponding to each power point recorded (half-hourly step) are calculated. The minimum monthly TC column (resp. monthly average TC and monthly maximum TC) corresponds to the minimum (resp. average and maximum) of the instantaneous coverage rates calculated per month.
Since the value of solar production at night is zero, the load factors and minimum coverage ratio are also zero.
