The use of natural regeneration in stands with suitable species composition is one of the principles of nature-friendly farming methods. Greater use of natural regeneration and appropriate management methods could significantly reduce the costs and need for planting stock and human resources, which are scarce in times of calamity, while achieving higher forest value production.
