Description

The Brno City Monument Reserve (MPR Brno) was promulgated by a government decree in 1989 (Government Decree No. 54/1989 Coll., on the declaration of the territory of the historical cores of the cities of Kolín, Pilsen, Brno, Lipník nad Bečvou and Příbor as monument reserves from 19. 4. 1989). MPR Brno has an area of 158.6 hectares and includes the historical core with the adjacent Špilberk Castle area, the medieval Pekařská Street, the monastery area on Mendlovo Square and part of the modern Veveří district. Almost half of all registered immovable cultural monuments in Brno and four immovable national cultural monuments are located here. (For this territory, a regulatory plan was approved in 1999, the binding parts of which are laid down in the generally binding Decree of the Statutory City of Brno No. 28/2006.) The protection zone of the Brno City Heritage Reserve (OP MPR Brno) was promulgated by a decision of the Department of Culture of the NVmB in 1990 (Decision of the Department of Culture of the NVmB No. 402/90/sev on 6. 4. 1990). It is a large area of the city following the Brno MPR, which deserves direction of further development. Its border runs approximately along the so-called "Great Urban Circle", to the north it also includes the area of Královo Pole, the area of which is 2 838 ha. The source of the data are territorial analytical data, to which the National Heritage Institute transmits the data. More detailed information can be found in the documentation.
