Geological risks - Soil contamination

Description

The dataset is part of the data focusing on groundwater and soil contamination. It contains graphically defined areas with proven groundwater contamination, areas with expected transit of contamination from sources of pollution in the direction of groundwater flow and areas where soil contamination has been proven. Accurate information on concentrations of contaminants in groundwater is part of the database of hydrogeological objects (see Georisks - Hydrogeological wells and wells). A comparison of the determined concentrations with the pollution criterion set by the Ministry of the Environment in 2014 is given both in the database and in the map base at the point of groundwater abstraction from the hydrogeological object. Data for soil contamination are based on soil sampling probes. The data for those probes shall include the probe documentation (exact location data, reference to the report from which the data were taken, date and depth of sampling), a petrographic description of the rocks found and the determined concentrations of C10-C40 hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons (ClU), BTEX groups (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and heavy metals. The detected concentrations of contaminants are compared with the pollution criterion set by the MoE MP in 2014. The last layer of this dataset indicates the places where groundwater or rock environment remediation is currently taking place or has taken place in the past. Database information is focused on the type and status of remediation, links to remediation reports and remediation decisions, containing the remediation limit set by the CEI. The data are part of the passport of geology, hydrogeology and engineering geology (now Georisks) of the city of Brno, which was created in 2004 and is always updated by an external company at the end of the year. General was created for employees of the authorities who professionally comment on investment projects, project documentation or issue decisions according to the relevant laws (Building Act, Water Act). It is now also used by contributory organizations (e.g. KAM) and provided as a basis for the processing of studies commissioned by the Statutory City of Brno (SMB).
