Brownfields (development sites)

Description

Demarcation of areas defined as brownfields. Brownfields are defined as "areas within an urbanized area that have lost their original function, are completely or partially abandoned or minimally used." These may include industrial, agricultural, military and railway sites, as well as public facilities (e.g. health care facilities, sports facilities, etc.). They physically and economically negatively affect their surroundings and, as a result of their original activities, they are likely to be contaminated or otherwise devastated, which reduces their attractiveness for future use." Part of the data is the original and recommended use of the area, brownfield category and other information. The data are displayed in the map application Brownfields - development sites. More detailed information can be found in the documentation. The data is in the GCS WGS84 coordinate system.
