Extrapolation forecast of combined radar reflectivity information at the altitude of 2km PseudoCAPPI_2km for the territory of the Czech Republic

Description

Two-dimensional combined radar reflectivity information at a constant altitude of 2km above sea level PseudoCAPPI_2km. It is a product that, after conversion using the Marshall-Palmer Z-R relationship, is operationally used for radar estimation of precipitation intensity on the Earth's surface. Information merged from the ČHMÚ Brdy-Praha and Skalka radars (in the case of service shutdowns or radar failures, data from foreign radars are added to the merged information). The extrapolation forecast is performed by the COTREC method, where the last available merged information is moved according to the transfer vectors obtained by comparing the last and 10 minutes older merged information MAX_Z. Only the change in the position of the occurrence of radar reflectivity is predicted, not the change in its intensity. Two-dimensional information is stored in a georeferenced grid array with a spatial resolution of 1x1km in a projection compatible with OpenStreetMaps/GoogleMaps/Mapy.cz (EPSG:3857). The forecast aggregated information is created in the time step of 5 minutes for the forecast terms +10min, +20min, +30min, +40min, +50min, +60min. Predictions from one computational term are stored in one archive TAR file. Data are stored in HDF5 format according to ODIM HDF5 specification available at: https://www.eumetnet.eu/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/ODIM_H5_v2.4.pdf Act No 262/2024 on the Public Hydrometeorological Service, as amended by the implementing regulations
