INSPIRE - Administrative limits of the DNF - Limits of public forests in Wallonia (BE)

This data layer covers the administrative boundaries of public forests in Wallonia.

The perimeters included in this layer are the cartographic translation of the restructuring of the Forest Resources Directorate (SPW - Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment - Department of Nature and Forestry - Forest Resources Directorate). This restructuring is based on the transcription of the decree of the Walloon Government of 19 December 2008 setting the number of forest districts and amending the decree of the Walloon Government of 3 June 1999 setting the boundaries of the directorates and external services of the Department of Nature and Forests.

The boundary of properties managed by the Department of Nature and Forestry (DNF) is presented here in its INSPIRE confomre version.
The DNF manages all public forest properties. Public forests are forest areas that benefit from the forest regime, i.e. "woods and forests of the Walloon Region, other legal persons under Belgian public law (Provinces, Municipalities, CPAS, etc.) as well as woods and forests in which legal persons under Belgian public law have undivided rights among themselves or with individuals".

The data layer covers the entire Walloon territory.
