Nationally designated areas (NDAs) according to Directive 2007/2/EC in Wallonia - Report 2021

Description

This dataset compiles the information reported in the framework of the Inventory of Nationally Designated Areas (CDDA) in Wallonia. The data reported here in geographical and numeric alpha formats correspond to Wallonia's participation in the European inventory of designated areas at national level (The Common Database on Designated Areas - CDDA). This database is part of the annual report to the European Environment Agency. These data are obtained by cross-consolidating data produced by the Department of Nature and Forestry (SPW, SPW ARNE, DNF). These data may therefore be slightly different from those published elsewhere. The classes of objects reported (federal nature reserves, approved nature reserves, forest reserves, wetlands of biological interest, underground cavities of scientific interest, nodal areas of national parks and natural parks) evolve each year. You will find attached the list of classes reported according to the reporting year, in the document "Registre_types_designation_BE.xlsx". The data shall contain information on designated natural areas and their types of designation, which directly or indirectly create protected areas. The CDDA is the official source of information on protected areas for the 38 European countries that are members of the World Database of Protected Areas (WDPA). The CDDA data can be consulted online in the European Nature Information System (EUNIS).
