Agricultural parcel from SIGEC 2021 according to Directive 2021/2115/EU

Description

The Walloon agricultural parcel (2021/2116/EU) takes over the agricultural parcels declared annually by farmers in Wallonia in 2021. These parcels are consolidated by the administration on the basis of reference data. The Walloon agricultural parcel allows the implementation of the identification system for agricultural parcels (SIPA or LPIS) required by the European Commission. At the time of declaration, farmers shall attribute to these parcels a principal use using a crop code: wheat, beet,.. The latter describes the culture in place as of May 31. On each parcel, the farmer may submit one or more aid applications, including aid for organic farming. Annual consolidation is carried out on the basis of aerial orthophotographs taken annually throughout Wallonia and on the basis of supporting documents such as certifications issued by organic certification bodies. Consolidated parcels are published. Each parcel bears a unique identification registered in Wallonia’s Geographic Information System (GIS). The agricultural parcel is managed by the Paying Agency of Wallonia. The agricultural parcel concerns the entire Walloon territory. The agricultural parcel is published to meet Regulation 2023/138/EU. However, the official source remains the copy managed and held by the Paying Agency of Wallonia. This is mainly an administrative layer which should not be confused with the layer of agricultural reference parcels. Agricultural parcels are contained in agricultural reference parcels. Agricultural parcels serve as a basis for farmers to submit their geospatial application. They are used for the calculation of the amount of aid.
