INSPIRE - Underground natural gas storage tanks in Wallonia (BE)

Description

This INSPIRE data layer brings together the boundaries of underground natural gas storage tanks and the areas considered to be stripped in Wallonia. This INSPIRE compliant data layer is derived from the Mining Concessions - Series data (https://geoportail.wallonie.be/catalogue/ee7816ef-f364-4496-bc04-779818f167f8.html). The boundaries of the mining concessions were mapped and computerised between 1999 and 2001 on the basis of the royal decrees granting them and the plans annexed thereto. The two underground storage tanks for natural gas in Péronne and Anderlues, formed by the mining works of three concessions partially forfeited for this purpose, are represented independently. On the other hand, the areas of the Mons Basin where, according to the Administration's archives, coal mining has been particularly intense are mapped as stripped areas.
