Drilling is a method of punctual recognition, in a given direction, of loose and/or rocky terrain. In order to determine the geomechanical and physical characteristics of the environment, the samples (reworked and unreworked) taken are described by a geologist and, if necessary, laboratory tests are carried out.
In-situ tests can be carried out during or after drilling, such as pressure tests, water level measurements, permeability tests, pH, conductivity, ...
Drilling holes can be equipped for piezometric, inclinometric, ...
