Description

Organic farming is the stratum of greatest protection of agricultural areas because it avoids the use of chemically synthesized products. This production method, which is based on the use of rustic and tolerant species or varieties, extensive in mechanical work, crop rotation, use of improved manure and fallow as a form of fertilization, use of attractive plants as a form of pest control, is a real milestone in the protection of the environment in all its areas, protects biodiversity, mitigates climate change, avoids pollution, provides healthy food, while covering a niche market of increasing demand. Although the market must be the one to pay for these practices, the reality is still complex, which is why the financial support provided by rural development policy is necessary.
