Files subject to simplified environmental impact assessment

Description

The environmental impact assessment (EIA) is the process through which the significant effects that projects have or may have, before their authorization on the environment, are analyzed, including in this analysis the effects of those on the following factors: population, human health, flora, fauna, biodiversity, geodiversity, land, soil, subsoil, air, water, climate, climate change, landscape, material goods, including cultural heritage, and the interaction between all the aforementioned factors. There are two types of environmental impact assessment, ordinary and simplified. The Simplified Environmental Impact Assessment (EAES), which will be carried out according to the procedure established in articles 45 to 48 of Law 21/2013, of December 9, on environmental assessment. The environmental impact report is a mandatory and determining report of the environmental body with which the simplified environmental impact assessment is finalized. The environmental impact report may determine that the assessed project does not have significant effects on the environment or that it should be subject to a regular environmental impact assessment. This report will be published in the corresponding Official State Gazette or official journal and without prejudice to its publication on the website of the environmental body.
