Urban wastewater treatment

Description

The sewage treatment plants are collected in localities of more than 2,000 inhabitants equivalent with their coordinates, their treatment capacity, geographical coordinates, treatment elements and the conformity of the installation for the different parameters required by Directive 91/271. The discharge points of the different treatment plants are collected, together with the code of the area where they discharge, distinguishing whether it is a normal or sensitive area. Localities (agglomerations) of more than 2000 equivalent inhabitants are collected with their geographical coordinates and the load of their discharge in equivalent inhabitants Directive 91/271/EEC on urban waste water treatment requires the monitoring of discharges from treatment plants. On a biennial basis, the Autonomous Community sends the results of this control to the Ministry with competences in the environment, so that it can submit them to the European Commission together with those of the rest of the Autonomous Communities. TERMS: h.e. refers to Equivalent Inhabitant, which is a measure of the capacity of the plant based on the inhabitants it can serve. Directive 91/271/EEC refers to the removal performance of several parameters: BOD5 biochemical oxygen demand COD chemical oxygen demand SS solids in suspension N nitrogen P phosphorus 'Complies' means that it complies with the parameters required by the Directive
