Citizen participation. Participatory budgeting

Description

Participatory budgets are democratic processes in which citizens directly decide what a part of the municipal budget is intended for. The people who participate through Decide Madrid propose spending and investment projects, these are valued technically and economically by municipal technical staff and finally reach a final vote. The projects selected in the final vote will be carried out, from January 1 of the following year, by the Madrid City Council. This set of data offers the projects that have been chosen in the final vote of each year, with the detail of the year of the participatory process, scope of action, identification number and title of the project, cost, municipal unit that assumes the required investment and status of execution of the project.
