2814|QUALITATIVE POSTELECTORAL PROSPECTION. ELECTIONS TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT 2009
Description
The generic objective of the study has been to determine, as a working hypothesis, an explanation of the voting or abstention behaviors maintained by the population. The 'population' was defined in a very specific way by that sector of it that would have been the least loyal voter to various parties. And, in addition, it distinguished between voters and abstentionists, and with work currently or unemployed. It is a vision restricted, therefore, to more sensitive segments.
The generic objectives were then broken down into the analytical variables:
- Reasons for participation or not in the call.
- Reasons for the casting of the vote in favour of one or the other party. Type of vote cast: of punishment, useful, does or does it not involve changes with previous electoral calls?
- Review of the most important indicators underlying the vote cast.
- Influence of the current economic crisis.
- Perception of government measures and opposition actions.
- Follow-up of the campaign. Opinion on the candidates.
Attitudes and evaluations of parties and their leaders.
All this taking into account the particularities of the Autonomous Communities in which the study has been carried out
and the different trends in the voting history of citizens.
