Dictionary of Cultural Contexts. Euro-Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultures.
Description
The cultural heritage produced by man and the civilisations in which it has developed, is shaped by an unstoppable set of objects and manifestations as diverse chronologically, thematically and spatially as the history of humanity itself. The cultural assets that houses the museums make up a sample of this plural and heterogeneous heritage and are the result of the precise historical time and the spatial framework in which they were created and disseminated. Therefore, their nature and description can only be explained in the historical and cultural context in which they were produced. Their classification turns out to be very complex, requiring rational and homogeneous criteria that allow to allocate a specific time and space to contextualise them and for the understanding of the historical conditions that made them possible.
