Description
Ceramic materials are very present among man-made objects to meet their most diverse needs. Therefore, among the cultural assets that we document and protect as a cultural heritage, there are a large number of ceramic objects. This thesaurus contains terminology referring to both names of ceramic objects, as well as materials and techniques of elaboration and decoration of them, as well as specific formal descriptors. More than 600 terms are offered in LOD for consultation, download and link. Each term is accompanied by a definition, scope notes, bibliography and link to the Digital Network of Museum Collections of Spain and, in many of the terms referenced, demonstrative images. Various functionalities are presented, such as SPARQL consultation point, alphabetical and hierarchical search of terms, as well as 412 links to other information resources (List of Headings of Matter for Public Libraries of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, List of Heads of Matter of the Library of Catalonia, the national libraries of France, Holland and Germany, the thesaurus of Getty Research Institute, Library of the American Congress, Dbpedia and Geonames).
