Frames of the National Air Orthophotography Plan (PNOA)
Description
The National Plan of Orthophotography (PNOA) aims to obtain digital aerial orthophotographs with resolution of 25 or 50 cm and digital models of elevations (MDE) of high precision throughout the Spanish territory, with an update period of 2 or 3 years, depending on the zones. It is a cooperative and co-financed project between the General State Administration and the Autonomous Communities.
A unique photogrammetric flight and a rigorous treatment of the data is carried out in accordance with technical specifications agreed between all the participating public administrations.This approach of decentralised and cooperative production between the different administrations is in line with the spirit of the Inspire Directive for the establishment of a geographical data infrastructure in Europe, which aims to ensure that the maximum level of detail of geographical information is captured only once and that it is shared openly among the different social agents that need it.
