Non-face-to-face procedural proceedings
Description
Article 14.1 of Law 3/2020, of 18 September, on procedural and organisational measures to deal with COVID-19 in the field of the Administration of Justice, stated that “...Until 20 June 2021 inclusive, the court or tribunal at its headquarters, the acts of trial, appearances, statements and hearings and, in general, all procedural acts, shall preferably be carried out by means of telematic presence, provided that the courts, courts and prosecutors have at their disposal the technical means necessary to do so...”.
In order to know the volume of work with telematic means by the judicial bodies, since the declaration of the State of Alarm in Spain, data relating to the use of telematic platforms and videoconferencing systems have been collected.
The data include:
· Those relating to the platform used by each autonomous community.
· Those concerning the data by jurisdiction, distinguishing between civil, criminal, contentious-administrative and social.
· The separation between hearings and trials, on the one hand, and other telematic proceedings, on the other, in each of the jurisdictions.
The data obtained have been classified by autonomous communities and provinces, in order to be able to know directly the functioning of telematic systems and platforms in judicial bodies. Likewise, the aforementioned data are also subdivided by month and year, since the beginning of these telematics performances.
