Evolution of the municipal area in the Principality of Asturias
Description
Information about the superfice of the 78 councils (municipalities) of the Principality of Asturias.
Until 2019 are the data from the Registry of Local Entities. Because these are updated only when the National Geographical Institute (IGN) makes modifications to the delimitation of the municipality, measurements coexist in three different geodesic reference and projection systems (according to calculation date). Therefore, since 2020 the areas are calculated by SADEI from the Limit Lines published by the IGN, applying the ETRS89 projection system Lambert Azimutal Equivalent for all municipalities, which is the one used by the IGN since 2012.
