Description
Since 1989, the City of Helsingborg has continuously monitored air quality in the municipality by measuring the concentrations of pollutants in the air, such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2), ozone and particulate matter (PM10, PM2,5). The measurements aim to monitor environmental quality standards, the purpose of which is to protect human health and to provide Helsingborg with a basis for urban and traffic planning, and to provide the public, research and companies with access to high-quality environmental data. Measurements are carried out in central parts where many people are present and where the concentrations are expected to be high, which means measurements in close to traffic environments.The City of Helsinki reports annually validated measurement data to the national data host, SMHI.
