Cross-border beneficiaries: staffing, expenditure and reimbursements

Description

These data provide information on the compensation expenses and reimbursements relating to cross-border recipients of unemployment insurance (Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany and Spain) since 2011, as well as their number and average monthly amount of compensation. A frontier worker is a person who pursues his activity in a State other than his State of residence to which he returns in principle every day or at least once a week. A frontier worker who loses his job in one of the European Member States or in Switzerland shall be compensated by the competent institutions of his State of residence. For Switzerland, expenditure and reimbursements taken into account since 2013, as there was no agreement with France between 2009 and 2012. * * * **Variable:** **Country**: country in which the cross-border beneficiaries have carried out their lost activity **Annual expenditure**: compensation expenditure in million euros paid to cross-border beneficiaries by unemployment insurance (ARE, AREF, ASP and ARCE benefits) according to the country of employment defined at the time of entitlement **Annual reimbursement**: Reimbursement requests in EUR million issued by France to border states **Balance**: reimbursement - compensation in millions of euros, which corresponds to the additional cost for Unédic **Number of beneficiaries receiving compensation**: number of beneficiaries compensated under the AER, the AREF, the ASP or the ATI at the end of the month, annual average over the 12 months **Average monthly net compensation**: average monthly net amount of compensation paid out of all beneficiaries compensated under the AER, the AREF or the ASP **Average net monthly compensation for recipients who have worked**: average monthly net amount of compensation paid, on beneficiaries compensated under the AER, the AREF or the ASP who worked in the month **Average net monthly compensation for recipients who have not worked**: average monthly net amount of compensation paid, on beneficiaries compensated under the AER, the AREF or the ASP who did not work in the month
