Bike counting – Meters – Syndicat des Mobilités de Touraine
Description
Dataset listing and locating the meters of the bike counting sites of the Syndicat des Mobilités de Touraine installed since 2016.
This dataset is loaded daily on the API of our partner Eco Meter, provider of Zelt or Easy-Zelt loop counting technology (electromagnetic loops to distinguish bicycles from other users of an infrastructure)._
Meters are preferentially implanted on axes where flows are concentrated. The position of Tours between the Loire and the Cher led to equip, initially, the bridges. A counting site can be equipped with one or two meters depending on the site configuration.
The meters are of a permanent or semi-permanent type. In the second case, they are positioned over a given period, usually 12 months, before being moved. Meters can pick up bicycles and/or pedestrians, but only bike data are available here.
**To NOTE:** The only rectified data is that of the semi-permanent meter n°2 of the bridge of Arcole, currently positioned on the bike path, to take into account bicycles using the sidewalk. The recovery, determined following field studies, is 15 %.
**Temporary information:** The meter installed at **Point O** has anomalies. Until it is repaired, the figures are not communicated

The number of meters evolves as cycling facilities progress. Some meters can be disabled for work or occasionally fail.
