Coverage 2G, 3G, 4G in Rennes by operator July 2015

Description

ARCEP carried out surveys in early 2014 for 2G coverage maps and in early 2015 for 3G and 4G coverage maps to check the reliability of 2G, 3G and 4G coverage maps. These surveys showed that the coverage maps of the four operators had a good level of reliability, i.e. 2G, 3G or 4G services were almost always available, outside the buildings, when operators displayed coverage on their maps, apart from a few occasional inconsistencies. On the basis of these maps, ARCEP calculated the coverage rates presented. These rates are representative of the service provided to users, and not only of the network belonging to the operator concerned: the coverage of operators is therefore measured taking into account mutualisation and roaming agreements with other operators. They therefore do not make it possible to verify operators' deployment obligations, for which ARCEP relies solely on the network deployed by each operator with its own frequencies.
