Trees in Rennes Métropole

This data layer represents the trees located in the spaces managed by the services of the communes of Rennes Métropole. Any type of tree (alignment, ornament, ...) is represented in a singular way as a dot.
Each municipality of the metropolis manages its data on its territory. The DTIG department in Rennes Métropole is responsible for its technical management.

The main information to which a tree is assigned is:
- its common name
- its Latin name or taxon detailed in genus, species and variety
- its function: alignment, ornament, totem,...
- its size type
- biodiversity information
- the height in meters
- the circumference in centimeters

as well as various management dates (planting, maintenance).

The completeness of this layer depends on the involvement and interest of the municipalities of the territory to constitute this data on their tree heritage. These are accompanied by the Rennes Métropole DTIG service, which provides municipal services with tools to update this layer.
Otherwise, on the municipalities not involved, are represented the trees from the Topographic Reference Frame at Grande Échelle of Rennes Métropole.
