Description
A landscape unit is a homogeneous and coherent part of space, both physiogically, biophysical and socio-economic. Its different constituents, atmospheres, dynamics and modes of perception make it possible to characterise it.
A landscape unit has its own characteristics, spatial organisation and specific evolutions. The analysis of several units allows:
- a sensitive approach carried out in the field,
- a thematic approach that allows the linking of homogeneous elements of the surrounding landscape,
- a dynamic approach whose aim is to clarify and apprehend trends in landscape evolution.
These landscape units came from the Atlas of Landscapes carried out in 2011.
