# Regional archives Pays de la Loire – Regional advisers of the Pays de la Loire from 1974 to 1986
This list corresponds to the first period of existence of the regional assembly, before the first election of regional councillors by universal suffrage (March 1986). Previously, three colleges, composed of local elected officials, were responsible for their designation, as provided for in the Law on the Establishment and Organisation of Regions of July 1972:
\- College of Deputies and Senators representing 50 % of the Regional Council;
\- College of elected representatives of local authorities: departments and municipalities with more than 30000 inhabitants;
\- College of elected representatives of urban communities.
The list was drawn up by the Regional Archives on the basis of the collections of administrative acts retracing the activities of the assembly and kept in its holdings. It shall indicate the following information: surname and first name, department, years of presence at the Regional Council, and possible function within the “office” or “permanent committee” of the Regional Council.
