Financial table of follow-up of the Regional Fund for Strategic Studies (FRES) in Pays de la Loire from 2011 to today. In order to support and feed into the diagnosis and strategic thinking prior to drawing up a new regional contract or its addendum, the Pays de la Loire Region has set up a Regional Fund for Strategic Studies (FRES), endowed with EUR 2 million for three years.

The territory that so wishes can therefore request support from the Region through this fund to help it draw up planning or analysis documents, which will feed into the construction of its New Regional Contract. This support concerns the conduct of studies and/or diagnoses at local level on topics considered as priorities:
- in the field of economics, employment and training: local economic development plan, local agriculture and food plan, tourism plan, international strategy, etc.
- in the field of human and territorial solidarity: territorial health diagnoses, local housing programme (PLH), youth scheme, Territorial Coherence Scheme (Scot)...
- in the field of mobility and the environment: local transport plan, local energy climate plan, biodiversity plan, etc.
Innovative approaches to consultation and territorial democracy involving many stakeholders can also be financed through the FRES, particularly when preparing a new regional contract.
