Description

The Arts Data Bank and GBIF-Norge have together with the data owners created this service to disseminate sited species information from Norway and Svalbard. Here you can search for species and find where the species is found. You can also search by geographical areas, county or municipality, and get shown in the map which species have been found. The service is incomplete in the sense that not all existing findings of the species are available in the service. Many species findings have not been digitised yet and many primary databases have not yet been made available for the service. Artsdatabanken and GBIF-Norway are working systematically to make more and more data sets available as they are quality assured by the data owner. Artskart is based on the principles of Norway Digital. Each data owner publishes their data from the primary databases through standardised formats. Artskart reads the data from each data source and makes them available on maps from all data sources at the same time.
