Bergen municipality publishes the city council’s proposals for budget and financial plan as open data, where you can make your own compilations of the content of the operating and investment budget. When you read the city council’s budget proposal, you quickly see that it’s full of numbers and tables. With open data, you can create your own representations of the data base in your budget. Excel and open format Bergen municipality publishes the data base for the action and economic plan for 2017-2020 as open data. The data is posted in machine-readable format such as Excel files and semicolon-separated CSV files. CSV is a format that can be shared across different technological platforms. The data contained in the files are no more detailed than those found in the budget documents printed or posted on the municipality’s website. Service area 23 — Under the line — central budget items, net generates the total amount that can be allocated to the service production of the urban treasury, defined by the other service areas 01-21. Therefore, in order to obtain comparable figures with some of the tables in the budget document, service area 23 must therefore be kept out of the cases where one shows the city cash register’s service production.
