Polymorbidity of residents by region of residence
Description
The dataset allows to evaluate the health status of the population from 2014 to the last closed year using Dey's modification of the Charlson comorbidity index (DCCI). It contains the aggregate value of the index, information about the individual components of the index. For each person and year, it is stated whether the person has died. Characteristics such as gender, age and region of residence are also listed.
The incidence of serious diseases is scored and the sum of the points is determined by the score for each resident. The index summarizes the number and severity of the disease. Interpretation should take into account that data are reported for reimbursement purposes, which may lead to inaccuracies. The index is suitable for assessing health at population level, but detailed analysis at individual level can be misleading. The index does not include certain diseases that may affect quality of life, and the results are not internationally comparable due to differences in national databases.
