Cardiology: Pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators
Description
The data set allows to evaluate the number of patients in the population of the Czech Republic who have been introduced a pacemaker (PM, pacemaker) or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator). Data collected in individual years can be stratified according to the demographic characteristics of patients (sex, age category, region and district of residence). Data on the number of patients with implanted PM and ICD devices are available from 2010 until the last closed year. Furthermore, prevalence data, i.e. the number of live patients with PM or ICD introduced in a given year or in previous years, are available from 2015 until the last closed year.
One record (row) of the dataset contains information on the number of PMs and ICDs implanted in a given year, depending on the sex, age category and place of residence of the patient. For this combination of parameters (year, sex, age category, region of residence), the aggregate number of patients with PM/ICD alive in a given year is also given, including patients who have been implanted in the past.
