Travel survey (2015) in Loire-Atlantique

Description

The Survey Deplacements Grand Territoire de Loire-Atlantique 2015, carried out according to the national methodology developed by CERTU (Centre for studies on transport networks and urban planning), is a survey of the Department of Loire-Atlantique, six municipalities of Maine-et-Loire and three municipalities of Morbihan. This territory, consisting of 230 municipalities with a population of 1.3 million inhabitants, was the subject of a face-to-face survey on the agglomerations (Nantes Métropole, the Carene Saint-Nazaire Agglomération and Cap Atlantique) and a telephone survey on the rest of the territory. The Grand Territory Displacement Survey makes it possible to know the mobility, restricted to working days, of individuals (5 years of age and older) who belong to a household residing in the 230 communes of the study area (221 of Loire-Atlantique, 6 of Maine-et-Loire and 3 municipalities of Morbihan). The 12722 households surveyed are mainly characterised by their place of residence and the fleet of passenger cars and 2-wheelers at their disposal. The 20799 individuals surveyed were mainly asked about their socio-demographic characteristics and their use of modes of transport (individual and collective). The analysis of their responses made it possible to estimate at 5.1 million the number of daily trips made by the population of the survey territory and to estimate the times and places of departure, the lengths, the durations, the reasons and, for movements that are not entirely made on foot, their decomposition according to the mechanised modes used. The institutions that participated in the material realisation of the survey are the Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility and Planning (CEREMA), Nantes Métropole, the Department of Loire-Atlantique, the Carene Saint-Nazaire Agglomération, and the Syndicat mixte des transports de la Presqu’île de Guérande.
