Natural areas of ecological, fauna and floristic interest – ZNIEFF – type 1

Description

The Natural Areas of Ecological, Wildlife and Floristic Interest are set up by the National Inventory of Natural Heritage (INPN) on behalf of the Museum of Natural History. It is not a legal instrument but rather a scientific knowledge tool to protect the environment. Forests, ponds and forest plots may be affected by this scheme. Type 1 ZNIEFFs are sectors of high biological or ecological interest.
