Eco-responsible high schools

Description

Location of high schools benefiting from the Eco-Responsible label of the Île-de-France Region. In order to make high school students aware of environmental issues, the Île-de-France Region has been offering, since 2011, the 474 public high schools in its territory an ecological, participatory and civic approach through its "Eco-Responsible High Schools" scheme. The 5 themes Ephemeral or perennial (when it comes to setting up compost bins, rainwater collectors, vegetable gardens, hives, etc.), high school students’ projects revolve around one of these five themes: * **Biodiversity** (nearly 700 projects for vegetable gardens, landscaping, grain libraries, zero phytosanitary maintenance, eco-grazing and hives). * **Waste prevention and management** (more than 800 projects to reduce waste, combat food waste and implement selective sorting for recovery). * **Water management and treatment** (more than 100 rainwater harvesting, consumption analysis and autonomous management projects). * **Energy-climate** (nearly 150 projects aimed at reducing energy consumption: low-power equipment, creation of charging stations). * **Food and health** (more than 350 projects for the supply of short supply chains and/or organic products, the integration of vegetarian meals and the creation of health pathways) ### The E3D label? Any school engaged in a sustainable development project based on the implementation of a project establishing continuity between teaching, school life, management and maintenance of the school structure while opening up to the outside through the partnership can be considered as "E3D - School / Establishment in a sustainable development approach". There are three levels of labelling: 1. Commitment to the approach 2. Deepening 3. Deployment
