Broadcast of contemporary dance performances in Île-de-France, between the 2003/2004 and 2011/2012 seasons
Description
Sources: monthly tables produced by the Drac Île-de-France on the dissemination of dance, completed on the occasion of Arcadi’s consultation of dance companies in the Ile-de-France region in 2007, using seasonal leaflets from the venues’ and festivals’ programming and other sources (websites, Danser magazine). This work was continued after 2007.
In line with the method of entering information initially adopted, the continuation of the census work has excluded the programming of shows during the months of July and August, which has the effect, in particular, of not taking into account shows presented at summer festivals in Île-de-France. The database thus lists dance performances of contemporary creation, via the places identified as belonging to the dissemination network of contemporary dance. It does not necessarily correlate with the existence of public support and takes into account all the dance companies that offered a show in Île-de-France during the seasons in question, even if those companies do not originate and/or are located in the region.
Given the amount of information contained in this database, errors and omissions are possible, but are theoretically not significant, especially since the data were collected using the same procedures: comparisons are thus made on homogeneous sets.
