MEP = Special Modes of Exercise
"A **doctor with a particular mode of exercise** is a doctor whose **speciality is not recognised by Social Security**, such as acupuncture and homeopathy, or a general practitioner practising several disciplines for which he has been qualified. We can thus distinguish among liberal general practitioners those who actually practice a general medicine (generalist) from those who practice a more specific medicine (MEP). The common feature of general practitioners and MEPs is the value of conventional fees for consultation and visitation, which is lower than that of specialists."
