Wetlands - Inventory Haute-Garonne

Description

**Wetlands are transitional areas between land and water that host****many animal and plant species.** The Environment Code defines them as ‘land, whether exploited or not, usually flooded or full of fresh, salty or brackish water permanently or temporarily; vegetation, where it exists, is dominated by hygrophilic plants for at least part of the year’. * * * **The Department of Ecological Transition** of the Haute-Garonne Departmental Council carried out a departmental inventory of wetlands, finalized in 2016. This inventory has an informative and non-regulatory scope. It reflects the current state of knowledge but is not intended to be exhaustive. The dataset presents the contours of the Haute-Garonne wetlands, their summary description and the methodology used to carry out the inventory.
