Sentinel satellites NDVI mosaic of the Republic of Lithuania (no longer updated)
Description
NDVI mosaic (which is composed using normalized difference vegetation index formula: NDVI=((NIR-R))/((NIR+R)) where NIR is near infrared band and R is Red band) is made up of the Sentinel – 2A and Sentinel – 2B satellite images, with cloud cover <60% and covers whole Lithuania territory. Each of the mosaic image provides information about Sentinel ID (S2A or S2B), sensing data, date when image was added to mosaic, tile number, processing level, cloud cover index, snow index and NDVI index values which could be from -1 to +1. NDVI index values shows the state of the vegetation: <0 index values – water, ~0 – barren or artificial areas, 0> – vegetation.
