Description
The Lithuanian Geomorphological Map is a graphic representation of the Lithuanian relief age and the morphometry of origin and surface shapes. The colours on the map show the origin of the terrain: brown – glacier-created surface, green – glacial melting water rivers, blue – glacial lagoon-shaped terrain, light green and cyan colors show the relief formed by current rivers and lakes, yellow – wind-blown (eolic) terrain, grey – the terrain created by the bog, etc. Specific forms of terrain (turbidity, plateau, rinos, clones, etc.) are shown in coloured lines corresponding to genetic colour. Special signs show the morphometry of the terrain: the hills are shown in a brown line mesh and the curvature and hollowness of the surface are marked with black symbols. Red bright lines show the maximum extent of the last glacier – Nemunas – and the limits of the Baltic stage of this glacier and the phases of southern, central and northern Lithuania. The age of the terrain is indicated by a darker shade of colour that shows genesis. The map is supplemented by information on geomorphological district of Lithuania: the descriptive data shows the names of geomorphologic areas, districts, parasites and neighborhoods. Lithuanian geomorphologic map M1: 200 000 covers the entire territory of Lithuania.
