Description
This dataset provides the different levels of geographical aggregates associated with French municipalities (situation on 1 January 2023). It includes the history of the communes since 1943.
The _CODE suffixed fields correspond to the official geographical identifiers without a prefix. Values of suffixed fields
_ID contain a prefix to signify the associated geographical level:
R: regions
A: academies
D: departments
C: communes
FD: France detailed
FR: France grouped together
FE: France as a whole
EA: employment area (2020)
UU: urban units (2020)
CR: Rural municipalities
AU: urban areas
UUCR: Urban Units and Rural Municipalities (2020)
AUC: urban and common areas
