MonMaster 2023 - wishes for further studies and reorientation in master and answers from institutions
Description
This dataset is built from the MonMaster data from the 2023 campaign. It presents the Master's applications as well as the admission proposals and their acceptances for each candidate training course at the end of the admission process.

MonMaster is the national window for applications for National Master's Degree (DNM) training set up by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The MonMaster platform is for anyone who wants to enroll in a first year of a master's degree. We find mainly students enrolled in general license, but also students enrolled in professional license or students of other training in reorientation, as well as students of foreign nationality (not concerned by the system Studies in France). They must submit and confirm applications to receive a Master's admission proposal. Applications are not prioritized and are counted by mention of DNM within an institution. A candidate can make up to 15 applications under student status at the mention level and 15 applications in alternation at the mention level. Be careful, however, within a mention, a candidate can apply in several courses. Thus the total number of applications counted by detailed training courses at the level of the course and teaching methods can in practice exceed 30.
When applications are closed, the training managers examine the applications they have received and establish a ranking of candidates who meet the specific expected conditions of the training. This ranking determines the order in which the admission proposals are sent to the candidates. The admission phase is the period when candidates receive and accept or not the admission proposals sent by the courses. For the 2023 session, only one admission phase was organised on the MonMaster platform: the main phase, which included a withdrawal management period. However, some training courses that did not fill their workforce organised additional off-platform recruitment by reopening their eCandidate portal, and then reported on MonMaster the number of candidates recruited through this portal.
For the 2023 campaign, MonMaster allowed 209,324 candidates to confirm at least one application among the 7,694 candidate training courses offered. A total of 1,947,219 applications were confirmed on the platform. The data takes into account the entire campaign until 30 September 2023 for the main phase (date of closing of MonMaster admissions) and until 8 November 2023 for additional recruitments.
