Survey of Complementary Health Coverage Organisations (OC Survey) 2011 to 2019 (Revised 2011-2016)

Description

The purpose of the DREES “OC” survey is to find out the activities of the organisations offering supplementary health coverage, the population they cover, the guarantees they offer, and their methods of pricing. The survey aims to describe as fully as possible the “heart” of the complementary health market, by asking organisations about their most subscribed contracts, individually and collectively. Since 2019, the scope of the contracts investigated has been extended to a representative selection of the ten largest contracts of each type (collective, individual, over-complementary), against all three largest contracts previously. The 2019 vintage presents, therefore, a break in series. In order to be able to analyse developments in 2016 and 2019, the 2019 indicators are complemented by the “restricted 2019” indicators corresponding to the scope reduced to the three largest contracts. Developments are, however, to be interpreted with caution due to a smaller number of such contracts in 2019. This extension of the scope is accompanied by a methodological change in the calculation of the weights of the contracts surveyed, which leads to a revision of the series of previous editions (millésimes 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016).
