Nomenclature of professional families 2021

Professional families (FAP) are one of the main job classifications. It is then the result of an approximation between two nomenclatures:
* that of the [professions and socio-professional categories (PCS)] (https://www.insee.fr/en/information/2406153), used by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) in the various sources on employment to codify the professions;
* that of the [operational directory of trades and jobs (Rome)] (https://www.pole-emploi.fr/candidate/discover-le-marche-du- travail/les-fiches-metiers/les-fiches-metiers-ont-regroupe.html), used by Pôle emploi to code the positions sought by jobseekers and the offers submitted by companies, in an operational logic of placement.
While the CSP establishes a social hierarchy between occupations, Rome is more of a directory of jobs.
The FAP groups together professions that use common skills on the basis of close "professional gestures". This nomenclature provides a job-reading grid that makes it possible to analyse labour market data from different sources and thus facilitate an understanding of the functioning of the labour market.
The PCS nomenclature underwent a major overhaul in 2020, involving both structural changes to the nomenclature and profound changes to the collection process. The classification of professional families must therefore be adapted.
