### Data
These data, adjusted for seasonal variations and working days (CVS-CJO), show the number of jobseekers registered at the end of the month at Pôle emploi.
The ages used for the different series are the average ages during the quarter (average age of the job seeker over the 3 months considered).
None of the data in this file has been the subject of an application for labelling with the Authority for Public Statistics.

* The geographical grouping ‘France’ includes metropolitan France and the overseas departments/regions (DROM), with the exception of Mayotte.
### Source
The data are taken from the files of the [Monthly Labour Market Statistics (MLTS)] (https://dares.travail-emploi.gouv.fr/enquete-source/les-statistiques-du-marche-du- travail) of Dares and Pôle emploi.
### Warnings
In addition to labour market developments, data on jobseekers can be affected by a number of factors: changes to the rules on compensation or support for jobseekers, procedural changes, incidents. A document presents the main procedural changes and incidents affecting the statistics of jobseekers since 2011 (see document _[Incidents and procedural changes](https://dares.travail-emploi.gouv.fr/enquete-source/les-statistiques-du-marche-du- travail#toc-t-l-charger-2)_).
#### Recent incidents and procedural changes
_Since 2022: Number of jobseekers in categories A and BC and reasons for leaving_
In January 2022, the month-end update procedure for jobseekers was improved for young people under 26 years of age. This was extended to young people under the age of 30 in February 2022. The new update form was introduced in stages during 2022 for jobseekers aged 30 or over in the various regions (see document _[Incidents and procedural changes](https://dares.travail-emploi.gouv.fr/enquete-source/les-statistiques-du-marche-du- travail#toc-t-l-charger-2)_). This development has a lasting downward impact on the number of jobseekers in category A, in return for a slight increase in departures from the lists at the time of the transition to the updated version, and a lasting increase in categories B and C linked to the better declaration of hours of reduced activity and a slight increase in departures from the lists at the time of the transition of the region to the updated version.
In total, switching to the new update form would lead to a cumulative decrease of 105 000 jobseekers in category A between January and November 2022, increasing the number of jobseekers in categories B and C by 90 000 and exits by 15 000. The evolution of the update form also leads to a lasting change in the distribution of outflows by reason. In particular, with the new discounting script, there are more outflows due to non-discounting, while re-employment is reported less often: the share of discount defaults in outflows increases by 6 points and the share of re-employment decreases by 6 points.
