francearchives.fr – Inventories of French archives
Description
Inventories of archives held in French archives services (national, departmental and municipal archives and public and private bodies), partners of the national archives portal: [francearchives.gouv.fr](https://francearchives.gouv.fr/).
The interdepartmental portal makes it possible to find the references of several million archival documents, kept in public archives services. The search engine of the site simultaneously queries the inventories of partner institutions, located throughout metropolitan and ultramarine France. This data is constantly enriched by the addition of new partners. They are also handled by treatment of the authorities. The aligned and disambiguated local authorities are also proposed for [re-use](https://data.culture.gouv.fr/explore/dataset/francearchivesfr-les-lieux-des-archives/).
The datasets drawn from the information gathered by the portal are offered under [Open License](https://www.etalab.gouv.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Licence-Ouverte-Open-Licence.pdf) (Etalab), i.e. free of charge and in open formats that allow its reuse, while respecting the legislation in force (respect of the various secrets and interests protected by the law).
We remind you that all inventories and research instruments describing archives under 150 years of age are **likely to contain Personal Data (DCP)**.
**[Telecharger LE FICHIER](https://data-dump.francearchives.gouv.fr/ape-ead-eac/francearchives_ape_ead.zip)**: these metadata have been converted to XML (APE-EAD) which is a common denominator between the different versions of EAD.
