Reasons for closing post offices - mandatory

The last dataset was published for 2020. Data on temporarily closed establishments can be found on the Czech Post website.Data on the reasons for closing mandatory post offices. In the case of establishments which are considered to be post offices pursuant to Section 1(a) of Decree 464/2012 Coll., laying down the specification of individual basic services and the basic quality requirements for their provision, the obligation to operate such post offices is laid down. From the point of view of the Czech Telecommunication Office, it is not important how the postal licence holder fulfils its obligation, whether by operating its own mail or through the Partner's mail, or in any other way by which the requirements of Section 14 of Decree No. 464/2012 Coll. will be fulfilled. Posts may be temporarily closed by the postal licence holder only in cases where it is prevented from operating by obstacles which it did not itself raise and which it could not have avoided. In such cases, the postal licence holder must proceed in such a way that the fulfilment of his obligations is limited as little as possible.Since even in non-mandatory establishments the postal licence holder offers basic services, the Czech Telecommunication Office continuously monitors the situation regarding the temporary closure and cancellation of these access points of the postal network, see [HERE](http://data.ctu.cz/dataset/duvody-uzavirani-post-nepovinnych).
