Development of an innovative adhesive containing nanocomponents to improve self-adhesive products

Description

The goal of the completed project was to develop an innovative coating material containing nanocomponents (so-called nanoglue), which would enable the improvement of the self-adhesive materials and compositions currently manufactured by PASACO. The formula for this innovative adhesive was developed as a result of industrial research conducted by a research unit of the University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz and an expert in adhesives and self-adhesive materials, Prof. Zbigniew Czech, PhD, DSc, Eng., together with Pasaco Sp. z o.o. employees who were part of the project team. The project resulted in a nanoadhesive that achieved the following results: an increase in the adhesion of self-adhesive labels to the paper surface of cardboard by over 70%, an increase in adhesion to steel by over 15%, and an increase in tack by over 15% compared to the initial parameters of the unmodified CR052 self-adhesive dispersion under normal conditions. The adhesive modified with nanocomponents also shows increased adhesion in variable ambient conditions (elevated temperature of 40°C, reduced temperature of -10°C, increased relative air humidity up to 80%).
